For over 50 years, Virginia Garcia has been a place where our neighbors turn for care, no matter their circumstances. The Hillsboro Wellness Center is the next chapter in that story, a new home built to meet the growing needs of our community for generations to come.

THE NEED IN HILLSBORO

Hillsboro is Virginia Garcia’s second-largest patient population, yet our current facilities can no longer keep pace with the needs of the growing community.
Today, care is spread across five separate leased locations throughout Hillsboro: Primary Care, Pharmacy, Dental Care, Acute Care, and Reproductive Health. For patients, that can mean traveling between locations to access the care they need. For care teams, it can make coordination more difficult and limit opportunities to connect patients with the full range of services available to them.
The Hillsboro Wellness Center will bring these services together under one roof, allowing care teams to work side by side and giving patients a simpler, more connected experience.

THE VISION FOR WHAT COMES NEXT

In 2025 we celebrated 50 years of Virginia Garcia’s history and the lasting impact of that work on our community. Now, we are looking ahead to the next chapter.
The Hillsboro Wellness Center will bring health care, education, and workforce training together under one roof, strengthening the partnerships that help our community thrive. In partnership with Hillsboro School District and Portland Community College, the Center will create new opportunities for students to learn alongside health care professionals and gain hands-on experience as they prepare for careers in health care.
This is more than a new building. It is an investment in the future of Hillsboro and the people who call it home.
The Hillsboro Wellness Center will do more than expand healthcare access. It will strengthen the pipeline of skilled healthcare workers our community depends on.

Through our partnership with Hillsboro School District, Virginia Garcia already supports students in Medical Assisting, along with students training in Dental Assisting, Pharmacy Technician, and Phlebotomy programs. Our partnership with Portland Community College provides clinical rotations for Nursing, Medical Assistant, and Dental Hygiene students.

The new facility will bring these programs closer to the point of care, giving students direct, hands-on exposure to the environment where they will one day work.
